15 Examples of Nextdoor Being the Most Insane Social Network Around

If you're not familiar with the social media platform, Nextdoor, you should MAKE yourself familiar with it. What is Nextdoor? Well, it's not easy to describe, but it's essentially just like a bunch of mini-Facebooks for specifics neighborhoods and communities - theoretically a place where neighbors can interact, share news and tips, and get to know one another a little better. Of course, we all know how social media ACTUALLY works, so that idyllic vision is far, far off from the reality.

Imagine all of your neighbors - of varying ages, outlooks, histories, etc. - were all stuck in a chatroom together. How do you think that would go? Chaotically? Full of weird bouts of racism, various -phobias, insane opinions, and other weird stuff? Also when you take into account the only people who actually USE Nextdoor are, uh, older folks who have the TIME to spend prying into what's going on around the neighborhood? It's basically a free-for-all of aunts who share Minion memes, old people who barely know how to use computers, and a few sad, desperate people who just want to sell an old couch.

And - as you would expect - it gets weird there. Real weird.

But with so many Nextdoor communities, most people only ever get exposed to their own little sphere of weirdness.
