There are few things that embody the American spirit as well as internet memes - it's all about starting with nothing (except an illegally downloaded version of Photoshop), working hard (on trying to capture the right meme for the right moment and posting it in the right place), and rising to the top. Or, more often, it's about stealing a good meme you saw somewhere and posting it yourself like you came up with it - which is actually the MOST American thing you can do: be lazy and cheat your way to success.
So what better way to celebrate America's birthday than a bunch of memes about this country's battle for independence? Even better, how about EXACTLY 13 - one for each of the original colonies? I really don't know why I'm still writing - you've already stopped reading this and scrolled down to the memes, like a true American.
