Trypophobia is the fear irregular patterns such as clusters of holes or bumps. It may sound kind of innocuous until you see a picture of it and realize hOLy ShiT no thanks.
The fear triggers our most basic insticts: survival.
Wait, what? How in the world do a bunch of holes make us want to not die immediately but actually keep living and thriving? Well let us break it down real simple for you. Holes or bumps in the skin signal disease, esepcially something contagious (bubonic plague/zombies, anyone?) which triggers our inner primal nature: DON'T TOUCH THE GROSS DISEASE RUN AWAY SO YOU CAN LIVE, GODDAMMIT!
This is why, even when the pictures are rendered or photoshopped, the image of random clustered holes in nature or on our bodies can be perceived as totally repulsive.
